Catering
to the reading interests of the queer community, Queer Readers welcomes gay,
lesbian, bisexual and trans people of all ages.
The book group
aims to challenge its members to read books they
wouldn’t otherwise tackle. The group inclusive in
terms of membership, but also in the choice of books. All authors and genres
are considered and members decide collectively what ends up on the reading
list so that everyone has ownership of the group’s reading choices.
All of this is conducted in an
atmosphere
that is warm and informal and
where people listen to what others have to say.
Queer Readers is
held at 6.30pm on the third Monday of each month in the New Farm Library
Meeting Room, New Farm Library (135 Sydney Street, New Farm).
If you would like
the opportunity to meet new people in a non-threatening environment
then just turn up. Ask Janet and her friendly staff for assistance
with placing holds on the books. Library membership is
free - so see you at the next meeting!
